Margaret Riddle

Pianist

Margaret was born and raised in Lockhart, where she graduated from Lockhart High School. She furthered her education at Texas State University and Texas A & M at Corpus Christi, receiving a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. Lastly, she received certification as an Educational Administrator.

She began playing the piano at church at age 10 for the First Baptist Church of Dale, Texas, where she was baptized. Her father was the song leader there for many years. Her parents continued to worship at the Dale church even after moving to Lockhart in the 1940s, feeling that their gifts were needed at this small church. Margaret also played for the First Baptist Church of Ingleside, TX, and played for 20 years at the First Lockhart Baptist Church. Margaret, a member of First Methodist Lockhart, has played here for several years.

Margaret's career in education spanned over 30 years. She worked as a special education teacher, an educational diagnostician, and a special education supervisor. She finished her career as a principal for the University of Texas Charter School—Pegasus Campus.
